Bipolar & Mood Disorders

What it is

Mood disorders affect your emotional baseline and how steady you feel day to day. Some people feel stuck in lows and feel down, flat, or unmotivated. Others cycle between lows and periods where they feel unusually energized or wired, need less sleep, and may make faster or riskier decisions. These shifts can be confusing, especially when you look fine on the outside but feel out of control on the inside.

Common symptoms

Lows can look like:

  • Low mood
  • Irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of interest
  • Brain fog
  • Low motivation
  • Sleeping too much or not enough
  • Appetite changes
  • Feeling hopeless or self critical
  • Pulling back from people.

More energized or activated periods can look like:

  • Racing thoughts
  • Feeling revved up
  • Talking faster
  • Less need for sleep
  • Extra productivity or scattered energy
  • Impatience
  • Impulsive spending or decisions
  • Feeling unusually confident
  • Restless or more reactive than usual.

Sometimes it can feel mixed:

  • Feeling down but also agitated
  • Anxious or unable to shut your brain off.

Well Balanced Approach

We focus first on clarity and stability. That means understanding your patterns, including sleep, energy, mood shifts, and triggers, and building a plan that helps you feel more steady. Your care may include medication support when helpful, therapy informed visits using CBT, DBT, and ACT based tools, and practical routines that protect your mood, especially sleep consistency, stress management, and nervous system regulation. We aim for progress you can feel in real life, including calmer reactions, better follow through, and fewer mood swings.
